Cell service at the grounds is limited. To stay in touch with your group off-grid, we support two kinds of radio.
Voice radios (FRS / GMRS)
Handheld walkie-talkies are great for quick voice check-ins.
- Use channels 8–14 for personal group comms.
- Keep clear of event channels: 3, 5, 7 and 19.
MeshCore (off-grid text mesh)
MeshCore is a low-power LoRa mesh that lets phones send text messages across the grounds with no cell service — every device relays messages for the others. A local MeshCore repeater will be on site to extend coverage across the festival.
Set your device to the standard US settings so you're on the same mesh as everyone else and the repeater:

To join the default Public channel, use the standard public channel key:

These are the current standard US MeshCore settings (the “narrow” preset adopted in late 2025). If your device's frequency, bandwidth or spreading factor differ, it won't connect to the mesh or the repeater.
